Auto Safety Technologies Under Scrutiny

Certain auto experts have been weighing in on new safety technologies and how they are shaping the way we drive and deal with our vehicles. It is now more common to see cars equipped with safety technology that wasn’t around five years ago and it’s likely that, many more advanced features will be available in the near future.

According to a recent report, some believe that drivers may become more reckless and even careless by relying solely on the safety technologies to keep them from being involved in auto accidents. Automatic braking systems and collision avoidance technology have been improving and soon enough, all vehicles will be safer and much more technologically advanced than they were five years ago. This, some say, could trigger what many call the “Jevons paradox” and drivers may tend to ignore safe behaviors and safe driving techniques.

Automakers and several safety advocates disagree and call out for more safety technology that will avoid collisions and make roads safer. Hopefully, vehicles will become more safe in the future and drivers will learn more about the importance of driving in a more safe manner in spite of the presence of more advanced safety devices.
