Best-Selling Vehicles Get Poor Crash Test Ratings

According to recent reports, the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety has reported that some of the best-selling vehicles in the country have received poor ratings in new crash tests that recreate small-overlap collisions.

Some of the vehicles that did not perform well in new tests include the Toyota Camry and Toyota Prius v hatchback. Safety studies show that small-overlap collisions put front seat occupants at risk because the airbag system does not deploy promptly since the device is designed to deploy once there’s a direct side impact.
