Multiple news agencies have reported that a new auto technology could help analyze the driver’s health state while he or she is behind the wheel.

According to the reports, several automakers are working on researching technology that would allow sensors to read the driver’s pulse, skin conductance and breathing. Some Mercedes-Benz are already equipped with steering sensors that help the car’s computer to read drowsy driving behaviors. Now, automakers want to ensure drivers are safe by identifying if they are stressed or ill.
