According to a series of news sources, Buick has a full line of models that has just been awarded with Top Safety Pick awards.

The reports show that the models that did well enough in crash and safety tests include the new LaCrosse, enclave, Verando and Regal. The Top Safety Pick awards are given to vehicles that manage to receive good ratings in all crash tests performed by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. These vehicles were also tested by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. All models mentioned previously received 5-star ratings from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration as well.

According to several news agencies, CarSafetyRules.com decided to survey over a thousand drivers to learn more about their opinions on car safety features and distracted driving.

The reports indicate that according to the survey carried out by the CarSafetyRules.com, 47.2 percent of all drivers who participated in the survey admit that the use of smartphone technology may be directly linked to the number of accidents that have been reported in the last years.

The survey was carried out to ask drivers if they believed tech giants were more likely to come up with car safety apps and technologies than automakers. According to the survey, at least 21 percent of all drivers who participated think that Apple is more likely to come up with better technology to keep drivers safe.

Only 19.7 percent claimed Volvo was more likely.

The newest free event to be reported will be held by the Native American Injury Prevention Coalition and the Health Department. According to the reports, safety technicians will be checking car safety seats for expiration date, installation and use. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, placing children in car seats that are not appropriate for their age, height and weight could increase the risk of injuries in the event of an accident. Unfortunately, traffic accidents still account for most of all children deaths in the United States.

Several news agencies have indicated that five new cars have recently been awarded with Top Safety Pick grades from the IIHS seven months after 11 luxury models performed poorly in a new set of tests that the IIHS developed.

The reports show that seven months ago, the small-overlap frontal test, which has been recently introduced by the IIHS, was responsible for several bad safety ratings linked to luxurious models. Now, every single vehicle out of the five vehicles tested by the agency was able to achieve either an acceptable or a good safety score. Some of these vehicles had obtained lower ratings in the previous test seven months ago but now, are fully redesigned and have performed well in the recent tests.

Automakers have been able to develop vehicles that are more innovative and safe than previous models, which is a great step forward.
