A series of news agencies have reported that car safety seat checks are being performed by Safe Kids USA across the country.

The newest free event to be reported will be held by the Native American Injury Prevention Coalition and the Health Department. According to the reports, safety technicians will be checking car safety seats for expiration date, installation and use. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, placing children in car seats that are not appropriate for their age, height and weight could increase the risk of injuries in the event of an accident. Unfortunately, traffic accidents still account for most of all children deaths in the United States.
