Multiple news agencies have reported that while Chevrolet’s Volt does not offer many reasons for drivers to want paddle shifters, Cadillac decided to add the features to its Voltec-powered ELR model.

The vehicle will come with a pair of steering-wheel-mounted paddles, which could be pulled while the vehicle is under deceleration. The regenerative braking power of the vehicle may increase with the help of these paddles, giving the driver the feeling he or she is more participative in the driving activity.
