Toyota has recently issued a recall announcement for 669,705 units of Prius units of the 2004 through 2009 year models over a possible steering issue.

According to the official recall release published by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, these vehicles were equipped with splines that connect the steering wheel to the steering gear that may have not been manufactured with enough hardness, which could lead to a loss of steering gear.
If the driver loses steering gear ability, an accident may occur.

To prevent accidents, Toyota is now contacting car owners who have been affected by this recall.
