BMW has issued a recall for several units of the 2011 1-Series ActiveE vehicles over a possible issue that could eventually lead to an accident.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has reported that the automaker has noted that these vehicles were equipped with drivetrain housing assemblies that may have not sealed sufficiently. This issue could cause the connector between the electric motor and the transmission to experience a failure when it comes to its lubrication, which could lead to a loss of propulsion.

To prevent accidents, the company will be repairing all affected vehicles for free.
