Carfax Claims Used Vehicles Are Often Sold With Unfixed Recalls

Multiple media outlets have reported that a recent study carried out by Carfax has indicated that over 2.7 million used cars that were on sale during 2011 had at least one unfixed recall.

This issue has been linked to several accidents in the past. Consumers purchase used vehicles unaware of the fact the car they picked had one or more unfixed recalls and incidents occur as a result. According to several publications, California laws do not mandate car dealerships to warn drivers about safety recalls linked to the vehicles on sale. Dealerships are also not required to have the problems fixed before selling the vehicles.
