Toyota has issued a recall announcement regarding all units of 2001 through 2004 Tacoma trucks owned by drivers who use the vehicle mostly in cold climate regions.

Due to the fact these trucks were equipped with spare tire carriers that could become damaged if exposed to road salts, the company has stated that they fear the vehicle could pose a road hazard if the carrier designed to support the tires is not sufficiently coated with anti-corrosion medium.

To prevent the corrosion of the parts and possible incidents, Toyota is contacting all affected vehicle owners.
