The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has reported that several models of Ford vehicles were equipped after the company investigated an issue with the rear door child locks.

According to media outlets covering this recall, Ford decided to recall 5,675 units of the 2013 C-Max Hybrid, Fusion Hybrid and Escape SUVs because of a child safety lock that may not be fully engaged when the driver uses normal turning force. This issue may leave the lock unengaged while the child is occupying the backseat, which could be dangerous if the vehicle is in motion.
