The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s reports indicate that Altec Industries decided to issue a recall for certain aerial devices that are built on Ford chassis.

This recall affects several units of aerial devices that were equipped with certain battery cables that could become damaged, which could cause the device to suffer a short to ground, making the vehicle more likely to pose a fire risk to users.

To keep the cables from overheating and causing a fire, Altec 2010 through 2012 vehicles built on Ford F550 chassis are going to be fully repaired for free. The company is now notifying affected vehicle owners. Click here to read the recall statement promptly.
