Several news reports indicate that the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration along Honda Motor Company decided to issue a recall for all units of the 2002 through 2006 models of the Honda SUV model CR-V over an issue with the vehicles’ power window switches.

The federal agency has stated that the models affected may have been equipped with driver’s doors that were furnished with power window switches that may be faulty. According to the firm, the defective parts could eventually lead to a fire.

In November, Honda will begin to contact all affected car owners. The recalled vehicles will be repaired for free at local Honda dealerships, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has reported. The automaker has reported that until repairs are performed, car owners are asked to park their CR-Vs outside of their garages for precaution, since the fire could lead to property damage.

The federal agency urged consumers to beware of the danger since the switches could overheat unexpectedly while the vehicle is parked and even turned off. If the switches overheats, the part could melt and other parts could be engulfed in flames rapidly.
