Honda Recalls 268,000 Vehicles Over Fire Risks

Honda has recalled 268,000 units of certain CR-V models because of a master power switch that can cause fires.

If there is water exposure, the switch the driver’s door is equipped with can overheat, melt, and possibly ignite even if the vehicle is not on. There have been no accidents or injuries, but there have been four switch fires associated with the recalled vehicles thus far.

Honda is encouraging owners to park their CR-V outside until the issue is fully repaired to prevent fires and property damage. The company plans on mailing recall notifications out in November.
