According to recent articles, about 745,000 units of Jeep Liberty and Jeep Grand Cherokee vehicles are being recalled.

The automaker Chrysler has reported that these vehicles could pose a risk due to an issue with the supplemental restraint systems these cars were equipped with. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, these vehicles are being recalled because the system may fail, which could lead to an inadvertent deployment of airbags and belt pretensioners, which could lead to injuries.

The defective modules will be repaired or replaced for free by the automaker, the federal agency has stated.
