According to a recent report issued by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, over 50,000 vehicles have been recalled by General Motors over an issue with the steering column, which could eventually pose a crash risk to consumers.

The company has stated that these vehicles were equipped with steering column lock actuator gear that may be defective. If the component fails, the car may shift out of the Park position, posing a risk if the driver does not press the brake pedal. Since this issue represents a failure to comply with federal requirements, the company decided to issue this recall. All affected vehicles will be repaired for free.
