The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has reported that all units of the 2003 and 2004 Corolla, Corolla Matrix and Pontiac Vibe have been recalled over a potential injury risk.

The automaker Toyota reported in the official recall statement that due to a possible internal shorting susceptibility, these vehicles could experience an increase in an electrical short risk, which could eventually cause damage to the internal circuits, increasing the possibility of an unwanted and unexpected airbag and seat belt pretensioner deployment, which could increase the risk of an accident and even injury.
